Saludos! Sorry I didn't get the last email but I'm going to make up for it and do a bigger email this time.   Last week we had a baptism for a friend Luis Miguel. He is a really cool kid that was a reference from the other missionaries that used to be here. Anyways there are pictures below. It was really tough to get that baptism ready because we basically planned it all  in one week .  Thanks to our Ward, is really good and we got it done.  This week was really good.  We met a lot of new friends and we put some people on baptismal date who are ready to be baptized. We are working with Grisel and her daughter. They both came to church  this Sunday  and they had a really good time. All of the members basically attacked her with greetings because they love her so much and they were so happy to see her there. Grease's daughter went to church and she said that she loved it and she is getting ready to be baptized so hopefully we will have some baptisms...

Que Lo Que mijos, It's me. Elder Thompson. It's me writing this email for our sweet little Elder LaBass because he is sick. This week was pretty dope. We put a couple people on date who seem cool. And now this Sunday we are going to baptize a child who is 11 years old. This week Elder LaBass and I went to the temple. I can't speak for Elder LaBass, but I know that I had a simply wonderful time. I'm sure that he too felt the spirit very strongly and loved how clean the temple was. That's right ladies and gentlemen we almost have 6 months on the mission. How dope is that. We now only have to serve a sister mission.  We have a few members we've started working with this week who are absolute girl bosses. There is no other way to describe them. They are bosses and they are girls and we love them. Also there's a  cat that keeps getting into our house and eating our food.   Elder labass has been sick.  Today we played some soccer and basketball this morning with s...

Week 25

Saludos!! So basically this past transfer has been really tough because my companion and I have the same time on the mission and we are both very new missionaries, and at the beginning of the transfer we worked so hard and saw barely any fruits from our labors because we didn't really know what we were doing.  So that was a little discouraging because we had good intentions, and wanted to do good, but we didn't have enough experience.  For 6 weeks we had close to zero people that came to church and that were keeping commitments.   That brought us to our knees in prayer to find out what the heck we should do differently.   After many prayers we both felt like we should drop about most of our teaching pool ( 25 people) and start from scratch again.  As we did that we found more people that were ready to hear our message!  We even had 5 people come to church on Sunday.   It just comes to show that prayers work.  We had problems,...

Week 24

Another great week! -Had intercambios with the APs -We met a new friend Juan, and he is more than ready to get baptized! -We got transfer news! I'm staying here with Elder Thompson and Elder Tobin (The other Elder in our 4 man) is leaving so we're getting a new Elder. -New years eve was pretty crazy, the parties on the streets started  at 8 pm  and ended the next day at lunch time. -Church this Sunday, the Elders Courm President quoted Master Oogway in his talk.  He said "Yesterday is History Tomorrow is a mystery and Today is a gift, that's why it's called the present"  I thought that was very wise. And I think that it is very important to not take any moment for granted because everyday is a litteral gift! Anyways I hope that all of you had an amazing new years and good luck in 2023! Deuces, Elder LaBass
