Week 27/28
Saludos!
Sorry I didn't get the last email but I'm going to make up for it and do a bigger email this time.
Last week we had a baptism for a friend Luis Miguel. He is a really cool kid that was a reference from the other missionaries that used to be here. Anyways there are pictures below. It was really tough to get that baptism ready because we basically planned it all in one week. Thanks to our Ward, is really good and we got it done.
This week was really good. We met a lot of new friends and we put some people on baptismal date who are ready to be baptized. We are working with Grisel and her daughter. They both came to church this Sunday and they had a really good time. All of the members basically attacked her with greetings because they love her so much and they were so happy to see her there. Grease's daughter went to church and she said that she loved it and she is getting ready to be baptized so hopefully we will have some baptisms in the near future.
The other day we got this really cool reference. Her name is Luz and she works in a restaurant right by our house. When we went over there we started talking and she had some really good questions like: Why are there so many churches? And where is the True Church of God? She basically told us that there should only be one Church of God here on the Earth. When she told that to us we got so excited because we had an answer for her questions. He told her about Joseph Smith and how he had the same questions about why there are so many churches and where the true Church of God is. The spirit was very strong in that lesson even though we were in the middle of a restaurant when there were cars flying by and waitresses coming in. This Sunday she could not come to church unfortunately because she's always working in the restaurant but we are working on that with her. We will try and help her get work off every Sunday so that she can go to church.
We are also teaching a family with two adults and two little children of the ages two and two months. They are the coolest family and they are so interested in the church. They even told us that they have started reading the Book of Mormon as a family and started to pray as a family. Every time that we go over to their house we see that there's a different feeling in their house and they just seem happier.
That's what reading the scriptures and praying to do. They make us happier. God knows that that's why he gave us the opportunity to pray and read the scriptures. Even though sometimes we may have really hard difficulties and trials in our life, God still wants us to read the scriptures. When we do read the scriptures he can bless us more abundantly in our lives. I can really say this to each and everyone of you that it does not matter what you're going through if you just read the scriptures and you pray to God you will see miracles in your life and you will be happy.
