Week 77
This week was really difficult!
Our Baptisms for the 13th fell through because the husband of the family couldn't go to church this weekend because he was working. Even though he swore to never work again on Sunday lol. Also their marriage process will take a little longer.
2 of our companionships in our zone were really sick this week.
2 other companionships were injured so they couldn't leave the house that much.
The work in the whole zone got nerfed lol. President wasn't very happy with us
But we were able to find new people that went to church and accept baptismal dates for the end of January. So that'll be lit.
My companion and I have concluded that finding Dominicans that are interested is like geode finding. On the outside they all look the same and they will all say yes to going to church and to keeping commitments. But then they don't do what they said they'd do. I love the Dominicans, but it's been hard to understand why they don't do what they say they'll do. We just keep praying and trying.
Were focusing on patience this week🤓
I did a lot of studying in 1 Nefi this week and I loved reading about Nefi and his life.
1 nefi 18
16 Nevertheless, I did look unto my God, and I did praise him all the day long; and I did not murmur against the Lord because of mine afflictions
This scripture was when he was on the boat and he was tied up by his brother's for the space of 4 days. Even throughout his whole life, Nefi struggled just as much as everyone in his family but I never found one time when he murmured to the
Lord about his afflictions.
Whenever he did have afflictions, his outlet was always prayer and the scriptures. He never relied on any of the worldly objects around him to help him be happy. Just the power of the Holy Ghost through the scriptures
One blessing the Lord has given me on the mission is basically forcing me to go to the scriptures when I don't feel my best or when something hard is happening. Before the mission I never did that lol I always had other outlets.
But I've learned a valuable lesson there. That when we read and pray when really tough times happen, that's when our testimony grows. That's when we allow Jesus Christ to perfect us. As it says in moroni 10:32.
Because of these tough times and because of these experiences I have become a witness of the power of Christ even more in my life. He lives and I have no doubt about it.
Those of you in the midst of your trails remember what the prophet said in Ether 12:6 and keep holding on! It's worth it trust me🫡
