Elder LaBass - Dominican Republic Santo Domingo East Mission

Wepa Lots of good work this week! Our friend Luis didn't go to church this week because he didn't have any water in his water jug.  Then he said "I know that the great pastor Joseph Smith will forgive me but I can't leave the house without drinking water"  :) I did my first dunk on pday🦾🏀 We had some miracles this week with 2 new families coming to church and having a good time! Come follow me is cool We have a Google drive in the mission with approved music,  Gods Country was recently added   🦾 Nobody in the zone can guard me🏀 Our goal is to have 8 baptisms  on the 27th of January . We need your prayers so that it happens! I've been in the ward for 6 months and these members are my bros🦾 One of our greenies made a poster and put it on the front door that says "Baptize or go home"  I couldn't be more proud of him. My comp and I have 3 transfers together and about now we have morphed into the same person lol. We have transfer news this Thursd...

This week was really difficult! Our Baptisms for the 13th fell through because the husband of the family couldn't go to church this weekend because he was working.  Even though he swore to never work again on Sunday lol.  Also their marriage process will take a little longer. 2 of our companionships in our zone were really sick this week. 2 other companionships were injured so they couldn't leave the house that much. The work in the whole zone got nerfed lol. President wasn't very happy with us But we were able to find new people that went to church and accept baptismal dates for the end of January. So that'll be lit. My companion and I have concluded that finding Dominicans that are interested is like geode finding.  On the outside they all look the same and they will all say yes to going  to church and to keeping commitments. But then they don't do what they said they'd do.  I love the Dominicans, but it's been hard to understand why they don't do what...

  Lots of good work this week We had 2 exchanges and those were cool Lots of Dominican food We had a baptism for Franklin! Franklin is the father of a recent convert and it was a really good experience On Sunday my comp and I had talks and I talked about the ward giving us  references.  They made a goal in October to give the missionaries 15 references every month and at the end of December we should have received 45 refs and we only have 2 lol.  Just trying to help them keep their goal. One miracle this week, We have been teaching this family for 2 months now and the dad has been out of town for a month and a half and my como and I were thinking about dropping them because the family had 2 weeks in a row to go to church and the dad had never gone to church.  But we decided to keep them in faith and now the Dad came back and they came to church and were ready to get baptized  on the 13th of January !
