Week 71
God blessed us and the Dominican people a ton this week
-Alan and Vanessa got married and baptized! They are converted to Christ and the gospel, it's crazy. They keep telling us that their life has turned around in these past 2 months and it will keep changing forever! I'm just so grateful to be part of that experience with them.
- Getting them married was super stressful because we got to the marriage place 3 hours late because Alan forgot the time he was supposed to be there. We were supposed to get there at 9 am and we pulled up at 12:15. The guy who signed the papers was at lunch but out of the kindness of his heart he prepared the wedding for them. Another huge blessing.
-We were blessed this week with 24 friends that were able to come to church this Sunday. 18 of them have baptismal dates!
-Friday we had a call with our zone and I shared these scriptures with them.
Alma 36:
23 But behold, my limbs did receive their strength again, and I stood upon my feet, and did manifest unto the people that I had been born of God.
24 Yea, and from that time even until now, I have labored without ceasing, that I might bring souls unto repentance; that I might bring them to taste of the exceeding joy of which I did taste; that they might also be born of God, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.
Alma tells his son that through a great change that he had in his heart he was able to be spiritually born of God! Then from that day all he wanted to do was baptize nations.
Then we shared this scripture
Alma 5:
14 And now behold, I ask of you, my brethren of the church, have ye spiritually been born of God? Have ye received his image in your countenances? Have ye experienced this mighty change in your hearts?
I testify to all of you that being spiritually born of God is the best thing that could possibly happen to us. If you have not been born of God by the waters of baptism I invite you to follow Jesus and be baptized. And those of you among the church, I encourage all to keep trying to receive the countenance of the Lord in your lives and you will never be the same.
Next week we will try to marry and Baptize Luis and Mariela. Pray for them!
