Elder LaBass - Dominican Republic Santo Domingo East Mission

  Wepppaaa! Klk mijos Don't have much time but here's a quick run down. Gabriela, the woman who called herself una mormona.  We caught her drinking in a bar twice after we taught the word of wisdom, so we're gonna work on that lol. One day all of our lessons fell through so we were about to go finding people.  Elder Hix wanted to pray before, when we finished praying a woman walked around the corner and we had the best restauración lesson with her! I be trollen the little kids in the street.  Everytime they go to give me knuckles I do the snail move.  And I have a magic trick with a coin that gets them really good lol. We were able to go to the temple this week and it was an amazing experience.  It was my first temple sesh on the mission where I didn't fall asleep🤝   I felt the spirit súper strong and I can't wait to go again.  And I hope that all of you spend as much time in the temple as you can!   Saludoooos!! Crazy week! - Elder Hix is an absolute GOAT, he brings the spirit so strong in the lessons and it's very inspiring - Lorena y Juan are having some issues so we are trying to help them. Last week we dropped quite a few people and found a lot of cool new people! Ramon and Viralba told us that they have read 200 pages in the Book of Mormon  in 6 days , and they have been praying to know if the book of Mormon is true.  They told us that they got an answer in their dreams! That God came to them and told them that what we are teaching is true! We received 3 referencias from the Bishop and they want to be baptised ASAP. -We met this woman named Gabriela about 3 months ago and we were never able to get the second visit with her because she was always busy, but one day I felt that we should go by her house and teach her.  We met her at the door and scheduled to come by  Saturday in the morning .  We went by and had the best lesson about the Restauraci...

  Saludos!! I Don't have much time but here are the highlights. -The husband of Gricel came to church this week and he loved it! -Brother Manuel roasted me for my dirty shoes and getting skinny, he gave me a grocery list and cleaned my shoes lol. -Lorena and Juan are dope and want to get baptized  in 3 weeks ! -Daniel Alcantaras wife died 10 years ago then we taught him the plan of salvation and the spirit was so strong in that lesson.  I could feel the presence of his wife there.   -Melvin, he's a pretty shy guy but we are trying to help him get friendships in the church.   We got transfer news!  Elder Thompson is leaving for Quisqueya and I'm staying here.  My new comp will be Elder Hix.  He's my homie, and he is the Elder who said "who let the greenies out in the wild!" when we went on splits a while back.   This week was another great week. We met a new friend named Bosny.  We were just walking down the street and then this Haitian man came up to us and he said, "Hey! you're the missionaries right?"  And then we said yeah we're the missionaries and this guy did not speak any Spanish. We were talking in English. Here in the Dominican there are a lot of Haitians who live here and they don't speak Spanish and they love to talk with Americans.  We just thought that this guy wanted to be a friend and talk in English and that would be it.  So we handed him a pamphlet and our phone number and walked away. Then he sent us a text the next day! Usually when we hand out our phone number, nobody text us back so we were super surprised. We taught him and he even said that he would go to church and he did on Sunday! He had a great time at church and he made tons of new friends and he said he loved it!
