Week 23

 Merry Christmas!!

The work was a little tough and almost all of our citas fell through because nobody had time, but we still tried to work hard!

Christmas Eve!
We opened our Christmas presents because we were impatient and we found 4 nerf guns, so later that day we had a 3 hour nerf war because we weren't allowed to leave the house unless people invited us over.

-I did a P9X workout video one morning and I threw up because I'm getting so out of shape🦾

Mr. Pedro
THE LEGEND OF MR. PEDRO
-We were walking down the street, then a guy on his bike with a pack of dogs following him passed by us and yelled "JOSÉ SMITH!!!" This, of course, caught our interest so we went to talk to him. We talked to him for a sec. He only spoke his horrible broken English to us (because in the DR if you know any English, you don't need to speak Spanish to the white people anymore. Even if the white people understand your spanish better) and it was funny. He invited us to his house and we started following.
-So for like, 20 minutes Elder Thompson and I followed this guy while he stoped at like, 3 Colmados to buy stuff. He let me ride his bike though. But eventually we got to his house and he started having me cut a Papaya to make a smoothie. *QUICK INTERJECTION: PAPAYA IS DISGUSTING. IT ACTUALLY SMELLS REALLY BAD. IT'S OK IN SMOOTHIES, BUT THAT'S ABOUT IT.* He made fun of me for cutting the papaya wrong lol. I was also dry heaved while cutting the papaya because it smelled so bad. But anyway, we just sat having a yelling conversation in broken English with this dude for like, 30 minutes. It was hilarious. We took videos. Pics below.
-Now Mr. Pedro sends us yelling voice messages and random messages every day.
-Also one of his dogs is named Sarsky and he calls himself Hutch
-Also he has a The Matrix DVD nailed to his front door. Why? Good question.

But Christmas was super fun and we had another nerf war 😂
But Merry Christmas to all, and don't forget why we have Christmas!

Mosiah 16: 6-9
And now if Christ had not come into the world, speaking of things to come as though they had already come, there could have been no redemption.
7 And if Christ had not risen from the dead, or have broken the bands of death that the grave should have no victory, and that death should have no sting, there could have been no resurrection.
8 But there is a resurrection, therefore the grave hath no victory, and the sting of death is swallowed up in Christ.
9 He is the light and the life of the world; yea, a light that is endless, that can never be darkened; yea, and also a life which is endless, that there can be no more death.

If it was not for him, we would not be.
Amén

Deuces, EL
