Week 23

Merry Christmas!! The work was a little tough and almost all of our citas fell through because nobody had time, but we still tried to work hard! Christmas Eve! We opened our Christmas presents because we were impatient and we found 4 nerf guns, so later that day we had a 3 hour nerf war because we weren't allowed to leave the house unless people invited us over.   -I did a P9X workout video one morning and I threw up because I'm getting so out of shape🦾 Mr. Pedro THE LEGEND OF MR. PEDRO      -We were walking down the street, then a guy on his bike with a pack of dogs following him passed by us and yelled "JOSÉ SMITH!!!" This, of course, caught our interest so we went to talk to him. We talked to him for a sec. He only spoke his horrible broken English to us (because in the DR if you know any English, you don't need to speak Spanish to the white people anymore. Even if the white people understand your spanish better) and it was funny. He invited us to his...

Week 22

This week was another great week! In our 4 man apartment we've been talking some deep thoughts, we were talking about why we are serving missions and why we are going to stay in the church our whole lives.   My answer to the question,  Why am I serving a mission is:   I am serving a mission because the gospel has changed my life.  And I owe everything to the Lord because he has blessed me tremendously in more ways than I can count, so I am more than happy to give 2 years of my life to the Lord and give everything to him. That leads me into the question, Why will I stay in the church for the rest of my life? My answer to that is, because of the way the gospel makes me feel, and what it has done for me in my life. Reading the scriptures, pray...

Week 21

This week was dope! -we met a really cool dude and it turns out that he's a magician! This guy can do some really cool card tricks and they blew my mind.  We also had a really good lesson about the restoration of the gospel with him and he wants to be baptized! -Met a former MLB player that used to play for the Boston Red Socks, Marino Santana. He's a cool guy and is really interested in the gospel! Opening out the area has been a bit slow but its ok because I love the missionary work, and it brings so much joy to my soul just to be able to teach the gospel of Christ! This week our power went out for 4 days lol.  So all of our food went bad and the house smelled like death.  Yesterday we took all the food ourlt of the fridge and I just about died.   Another great week and looking forward to the next!
