Elder LaBass - Dominican Republic Santo Domingo East Mission

  This was an interesting week   On Tuesday all of our appointments fell through, the A, B and C plans.  So we had the opportunity to knock on doors all day that day!  Because of that we found 42 great new friends to teach this week.  And a few of them accepted a baptismal date and came to church! Miracles really do happen in our lives if we follow God and his commandments.  And really work our hardest to become like Christ. Next week we are going to have the baptism of Johana.  She is an awesome friend that has been taught for 10 months now and she has finally decided to make her first covenant with God through Baptism! This week we had the opportunity to hear a devocional from Elder D  Todd Christofferson.  He talked about the power of the Book of Mormon.  The power that it has to convert people and to convert ourselves to Christ.   Reading the Book of Mormon has really brought me more peace, joy and comfort in my life. ...

  Buenos dias We got to go to the temple this week and that was super cool.  I shaved my head again (for the 4th time) Elder Fairbanks is going home.  He's been my ZL for my whole mission so far and I've learned a lot from him! Found an awesome new couple this week and they love this message and want to get baptized!  But they first need to get married lol.   I had interviews with Presidente Acosta this week.  Super cool, I love Presidente Acosta.  He is finishing his mission and this was the last interview I had with him.  I learned so much from him and I'm grateful for all that he's done for me personally. Read a cool chapter in the Book of Mormon 3 Nefi:12   Very powerful.  Yall should give it a read! Deuces! Elder LaBass

  Wepa! Lots of contacting this week A lot of our old friends that were progressing towards baptism stopped progressing.  So that sucks.  But it's ok because we found a few diamonds in the rough this week!   Thanks to everybody who wished me a happy birthday last week it really meant a lot to me!  This birthday was really good.  I ate a dozen krispy kreme donuts and some hamburgers🙌🙌. We got robbed again!!  Homie just keeps playing with us.  This time he took my phone and some other stuff from the other missionaries.  That's the 4th time this has happened lol. Ricardo could not get baptized this week but we're getting there!! I took a bunch of  pictures this week but the phone got robbed so they got lost. We're going to the temple this week!   Hi Everyone!!!  This Sarah, Elder LaBass' mom.  This Thursday June 8 is his birthday! I was hoping y'all could email him and send him birthday wishes. I think it would make his birthday so special.   Thank you for being so supportive of our sweet Smashy!!!   Here is his letter from this week: Yoo!! Crazy week with lots of ups and downs.   We have our friend Ricardo who is an incredible example of faith.  He decided to make the decision to get baptized this Sunday and we are stoked for him!! - Prayers are awesome. They really help when you are in need. I Just love the Book of Mormon, the stories, the wars and the doctrine.  There is a promise in the introducción.  That says that any person would grow closer to God as he reads this book.  Amén.
