Elder LaBass - Dominican Republic Santo Domingo East Mission

  Don't have much time but I'll give you a quick run down! -Elder Willardsen and I took a photo shoot on pday and we got some cool Christmas pics -got to my new area and met comp Elder Thompson, it turns out he is my comp and Presidente changed it again!!! - The area is nice and we had nobody to teach so we just started to find a bunch and get to know the ward members.  -Carmelina from my last area had a baptism and she didn't want the new missionary to baptized her so I drove up there and baptized her!  It was the coolest experience on the mission. She recently had a hernia surgery and she couldn't walk for about a week and a half.  But when she was able to walk, she immediately told us that she was ready to be baptized!  Since she was barely able to walk we had to be really cautious in the baptismal font.  So my old comp (Elder Willardsen) helped her lean backwards to get baptized.  So all 3 of us were in the baptismal font together and it was so coo...

  Transfers!! We got transfer news  this Saturday ! So right now I'm Still in my first área (Nuevo Amanecer)   We got a call from the presidente that my comp (Elder Willardsen) will stay here and be district leader.  And I'm leaving for Boca Chica! My new comp. was going to be Elder Thompson and he's a homie of mine.  But I just got word that he's not going to be my comp anymore, so now I have no idea who it is. 😅  I'm really excited because we are opening up the area of Boca Chica so it will be really fresh and an adventure! This week was really cool -We had a bday dinner for my comp  - one of our most progressing friends is getting baptized next week! - made some really cool friends and met some people that are ready to be baptized! - went on splits with my man Elder Hix, he is in his first transfer so we were two greenies in the wild!  And we got a baptismal date together! We have one friend named Federico and he has changed so much ...

  Another week on the books! This week was insane! We met a really cool family and they are more than ready! We also met Cristal y Kathy, we had a restauración lesson  with them and they were touched by the spirit immensely.  When we were talking about Joseph Smith we felt like we should show them a quick video about the first vision.  We showed them the video when Joseph was kneeling down in prayer and asked his question about which  of these churches are true.   The Holy Ghost touched their soul through the video and they almost started crying. I've never been in such a spiritual lesson before and it was an honor to be apart of it. In this moment the spirit testified to Cristal and Kathy that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, is the true church of God! I really can't explain the gratitude that I have to be a missionary and a member of God's kingdom here on earth!

  I just finished my 10th week in the field...... crazy Had some funny things happen to me this week.  I had some (greenie moments)  hahaha.   1st.  I was talking to one of our friends and she asked me "where are you from"  and for some reason I thought that she said "do you have a girl friend".  So I said no no but when I get back I'll have a girlfriend but not right now.  Then my comp started laughing at me and I had no idea why.  Then she looked at me all confused, I was confused she was confused, everybody was confused about what the heck I just said. 😂😂 2nd. We were talking to this one friend of ours, and I didn't really understand what he was saying so I was just sitting back.  Then I saw him start laughing I wanted to be involved in the conversation, so I stood up and just agreed with what he was saying by saying "aye me too man!".  Then everybody started laughing at me and my companion started to die laughing and I wa...
